The #Maltese Crossing
On August 26th we will take part in a specially organized one-day kayaking tour from Gozo to Comino and back to Gozo. I (Bea) will swim one-way (2,5km) before climbing into my kayak.
Malta is an archipelago situated in the Mediterranean Sea south of Sicily, Italy. The country covers just over 316 km2 with a population of around 416,000, making it one of the world’s smallest and most densely populated countries. The capital of Malta is Valletta, the smallest national capital in the European Union. Malta has two official languages: Maltese and English. Valletta itself has been appointed an UNESCO World Heritage Site
The distance of this tour is around 10km. We will have the chance to discover Comino’s famous caves, which were used as locations for “The Count of Monte Christo”.
Be prepared for photos!
We are very grateful to Gozo Adventures for supporting us. Please check out their website http://www.gozoadventures.com. We did a great kayaking-tour with them last year. When I contacted them about our idea, they got back to us within ONE hour – fabulous, right?
Should anyone be in Malta at the end of August, please get in touch! We will be happy to welcome you and have you “onboard”! The costs for the tour, including equipment, safety-instructions and a picknick-lunch are € 60 per person, of which € 10 will be donated to #S4K.
You would like to sponsor us? AWESOME!
You can do so via the #S4K website, using hashtag #MalteseCrossing! But please don’t forget to send a screenshot or a copy of your PayPal-receipt to ActionForS4k@gmail.com, so we can keep track of donations.
